Common accidents on ears, eyes, and nose and their remedies

The Ear
Have you ever got an accident that an insect entered into your ear or someone else’s ear? This is a common form of accident because the ear is always open. And since the ear is a very important sensory center, you feel very irritated due to the continuous movements of the insect. Again because these are normally small insects in the narrow ear canal (Auditory Canal) we cannot simply pull them out with our fingers.

How to handle the insect problem:
Place 4 drops of olive oil into the ear; it will bind the legs of the insect and the wings so it will stop moving which is very irritating. Lie in a way that the ear where you have put the oil faces up so that the oil does not pour out. Since oil is denser, it will go to the underside and after about 10 minutes turn your head so that the oil comes out with the insect.
Caution: Use olive oil or any eatable oil if you can not get olive oil. Do not use petroleum products like paraffin.
Handling larger objects stuck in the ear:
Children sometimes play with grains and put them into their ears.  If this happens rush and get a pin or soft pin. Fold the tip of the pin to form a curve in form of letter U. It will work as a hook. Then slowly take it into the ear of the affected person, hook the grain carefully and pull out. Seeds of maize and beans or ground nuts can be removed that way.

Grains in the nose: Children sometimes place these seeds into the nose. The same hooked pin can equally be used to remove it as done for the ear.

Treatment of Ear infections: Take 2-3 drops of olive oil, and marsh one garlic bulb thoroughly.  Mix the two together. Filter out the garlic residues.  Place two drops in the infected ear and wait for 10minutes. Turn and do the same to the other ear. If the infection is just starting apply once, but if it has been persistent, you do it for 3 to 7 days once a day. The infection will go.

The Eye: It is very common for objects to land into our eyes; they may be insects or dust particles. These too make life very uncomfortable.

Handling of objects in our eyes
The first remedy is to look for clean water. Draw the clean water into your palm, open your eye wide in it, the particles will go by soaking the eye into the water.

The second remedy is to pull out a piece of young grass. That inner part is often soft, tender, smooth and clean. That inner white part is soft enough not to damage your eye.  Make a curve out of it to remove the particle or insect.

Third remedy is to pick clean soil from the ground into your palm. Fold the fingers. With your fingers facing down and the outer part upward. Move the fingers holding the soil and tears will begin to form in the eye pushing the particle or insect to the eye corner where it can simply be removed. This saves you from harming the eye.
